Students,

Today Seguin High suffered a personal loss. Suicide is not an easy topic to confront on a personal level. Please take advantage of the services that will be available to you over the coming weeks as we each figure out how we will work through this tragedy.

Thank you to the class that stayed with me on Friday, your patience and composure gave me the strength to work through the day and all the chaos that ensued. Thank you again.

I am available for anyone that needs to talk.

Sincerely,

Mr. Womack

Students,

Today we evaluated the feelings and atmosphere present in the United States during McCarthyism of the 1950's.

We role played an activity demonstrating how easy it was to come into contact and make a connection with a "communist spy". The implication of that association being that you got a point deduction on your grades (this is of course was not really true). If you were absent you can print off the copy of the political cartoon analysis that followed up this activity and interpret the dangers presented by McCarthyism.
