Students,

Today we took a Literacy tests utilized in the South to prevent African-Americans from exercising their right to vote in the early - mid 20th century. The test itself is from Louisiana in 1964, have fun showing this test to your parents and proving that they too are not smarter than a 5th grader.

December 2nd, 5th, & 6th 2016

Students,

As we approach the end of the semester we begin to tie up lose ends of our content. Over the course of these two days we will tackle the concept of Reconstruction in the South. And answer the question how can we reincorporate these rebellious states back into the Union in the most peaceful way possible? Please see the PPT below if you will be absent.

In addition...In your notes write the question and devise a strategy for reincorporating the rebellious South into the Union while implementing abolition of slavery and addressing those that orchestrated the secession of Southern States.
