Students,
Today we started creating Bumper stickers to help us reinforce major events during the Gilded age and the United States emergence as an Imperial power. These will be due tomorrow at the end of class and at least one will be turned into an actual physical bumper sticker! See attached power point for instructions.

Today we turned our eyes towards American foreign policy at the end of the 19th century and the beginnings of the 20th. We begin deciding that we are strong enough to compete on the global stage and begin a policy of expansionism / imperialism.

Students,
Today we are taking a look at Theodore Roosevelt, and begin our transition from a growing nation to a world power. Roosevelt is a commanding figure through this rise and well into the progressive era so without information on him you will find yourself lost when we discuss several important issues.
Here is an Amazon Prime link to the video if you have it -Link To Video
If you are absent schedule a time with me to come and receive an alternate assignment to fill in the missing pieces of information (or to watch the video)

Students,
Today we did some background reading on Plessy V. Ferguson this court case will continue to make appearances as we move forward into the 20th century. If you were absent today make sure you come by my room to pick up a copy of the worksheet we completed, I do not have a digital copy for the blog.
I do however have a completed book of the Who's Who of the gilded age project that we completed last week, while I am still working on grading individual pieces I picked the best of each character and created this document to give you a consolidated list of the individuals that played a big role in the development of American society at the end of the 19th century. Please download and print.
