Analysis of importance to the US
- Richard Nixon began his political career as a senator from California and was elected President of the United States in 1968. As President he presented himself to Americans as a zealous anti-Communist, but he took steps to improve relations with us as well as with China. The Watergate scandal is a serious black mark on his character; he is known to be involved in lies and cover-ups. Though he seems an agreeable American to work with, he can not be trusted. Fortunately he is no longer at the forefront of the US’s politics so we will not need to associate with him.

John “Jack” Fitzgerald Kennedy, more commonly referred to as “JFK”, was born on May 29, 1917. He was the United States President from 1961 to 1963. During his third year as President he was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald on November 22, 1963. JFK had a wife, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, and four children: Caroline Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, John F. Kennedy Jr. and Arabella Kennedy. JFK was a big Democrat and that was one of the big reasons why he was so well liked by many American citizens. JFK served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy from 1941 to 1945. He fought in World War 2 and the Solomon Islands Campaign. He earned a multitude of awards including the Purple Heart Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Medal and the American Defense Service Medal. Within the first couple of weeks after being elected President, he ordered a military invasion in Latin America to overthrow communist leader Fidel Castro, the invasion known as “The Bay of Pigs” ultimately failed and hurt us. JFK was a big advocate for Civil Rights and made changes that would forever change the United States. On June 11, 1963 he delivered the Civil Rights Address over radio and television. In the speech he proposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and this act ultimately made segregation illegal. Another action taken by JFK that kind of backfired on us was the Cuban Missile Crisis in October of 1962. America sent a U-2 spy plane over to the Soviet Union and it secretly photographed nuclear Missile sites being built on the island of Cuba. JFK didn't want Cuba to find out about this but they DID end up finding out and it made the United States look terrible. As well as civil rights, JFK believed strongly that space was important and, especially getting to the moon before Russia. This competition is known as the “Space Race” which America won on July 20, 1969 when two American astronauts walked the moon. This impressive achievement boosted American confidence and prestige at home and around the world. JFK’s impact on the Cold War was a large and and helped America out, but when it to the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban Missile crisis, he probably should have thought it out more. His legacy is still widely recognized and missed today by many, he had promises that he was not able to follow through with and that along with the tragedy that let to the end of his Presidency, and life put a dent in millions of Americans hearts.
ReplyDeleteHe also went to Harvard! So cool. 😏
DeleteDear mother,
ReplyDeleteI have been spending a lot of my time studying like you asked me too. Recently though Richard M. Nixon who was born on January 9, 1913 just won the 1969 presidential election I was wondering if you would like me to study more about him and the politics so you understand how they work for when you come over here. Anyway i've already found some really cool information about him already, like he was a pervious navy lieutenant commander and after leaving the service he was elected to a seat in congress in California. While in 1950 he won a senate seat and then two years later he was a running mate for General Eisenhower. He also has a wife and two daughters that i have heard he would do anything for. The public loves him and if anything were to happen to him it would be devastating. Oh, I just found out that his has reduced the tension between China and Russia. It's so exciting being here for you Mother. Helping you understand the American ways like I am learning. Mother if we want to keep things the way they are you should stay home but if we want to have a bigger property we should get it now. Tensions are high between the family, but I’ve heard you have a large uppercut we should use and enjoy the end of the rebellious teen.
Love your faithful child

JAY NEWTON'S POST:
ReplyDeleteHello my friends back home. I come to you with Valuable interest from here in America. One named Dwight D. Eisenhower has just become the President. He is Anti-Communistic for after becoming president he issued the Eisenhower Doctrine. This states that if a Communist Country try's to communicate with any Un-Communist country the U.S will personally butt into it. Also if you do not remember this is the same Eisenhower that was the great European Theater General of the United States. I Know him because of the war, and he still believes I am here to escape Communism. He doesn't expect anything about me being a spy for you. Just some more information before I leave for the time being. His Birthplace is the State of Texas when October 14, 1890. Also he went to Geneva to stop the spread of Communism. He Failed his mission, but that went on to be called the "Spirit of Geneva". He is strong in his values as a Republican, and also is a man of God. That is all I have to report at this time.
General Biographical Information:
ReplyDeleteName: Richard Nixon
Date of Birth: January 9th, 1913
Role within the United States:
Military History: Navy Veteran (Commander)
Political Party: Republican
Political Career/Policies:
~Nixon Doctrine (1969)- A doctrine stating that American troops would be withdrawn from Vietnam and be replaced by South Vietnamese troops.
~Nixon increased his international relations with China and with the Soviet but was never accused of being communist.
~Nixon had liberal ideals on social and economic issues
~Nixon's economic plan failed as his plan was to stop the inflation by dropping interest rates and increasing government spending, however this helped only briefly and Nixon proposed little after.
~Strategic Arms Limitation Talks (SALT)- this agreement limited missile handling in both the United States and the Soviet Union.
Social Influence/Policies:
~Nixon tried to prohibit school discretion but failed.
~He dismantled social programs of the Great Society and New Frontier.
~He also abolished the Office of Economic Opportunity, an antipoverty program.
~Established the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)- this had the most strict environment regulations in the nation's history.
~Family Assistance Plan- created a guaranteed annual income for all Americans however this proposed plan failed to pass.
~Much like Canada, Nixon proposed national health insurance but this plan also failed to pass.
~Watergate Scandal- there was a break-in at the White House in attempt to steal confidential documents but Nixon tried to cover it up. This led to his resignation before he was impeached.
Analysis:
In Nixon's four years of presidency, 1969-1674, his controversial policies makes it evident that tensions were starting to rise in America. However during the Cold War Nixon managed to control the situation to an extent. He helped build better relations with the Soviet Union and China and also the SALT agreement with the Soviet Union helped relieve some tension for America. Although the Watergate Scandal put a bad reputation on Nixon and a questionable one for the government as the public doubts America's leadership.
Mission 69, find out everything about Kennedy even his favorite color was completed. After my deadly exscape from these god awful Americans? Or azmericans how I like to pronounce it led me to John F. Kennedy. After stealing his birth certificate I have a report... Born: May 29th 17th,location unknown. After stalking him for days he finally reveled he is a deomocrat. By hour 58, I had to go into battle and by battle I mean Impersonated a navy genral to get my hands on certified legal documents reveling:
ReplyDeleteJohn F. Kennedy served in the U.S Navy in solomons islands. What a show off. By night I hid underneath is ol desk (still not noticed) Which lead me to my greatest discovery as a spy yet... He revelaed he took that 1960 election with poise on the television screen in the political debate against Nixon. Now in office what is Kennedy up to? By going days without food I found my answer. Kennedy like a white man he is, is heavily devoted into space technology. Now regarding foreign affairs, Kennedy launched alliance for progress which was a program of economic aid to Latin America. Written in my reports I find that too nice something is up. but he doesnt stop there oh no Kennedy promoted peace corps which sent foreign aid to everywhere. Status report on Kennedy's standings: He is against nucleaur warfare, wants to negociate with the soviet union and wants to keep north korea contained. I had to use my lazer but I found the source ... Status report on policies: Kennedy Passed SEATO( killings of seals)? WRONG. A mutual defense alliance which enforced containment. Limited ban treaty: outlawed nucleaur testing anywhere.( even under water...yes because these azmericans like to bomb anything close to comunism...even comunist sharks. BUT WAIT us russians didn't care we had secret nucleur weapons. BUT Kennedy like the white man he is found our source and eliminated them by blockading for diplomacy which engaged containment and not war..this led to no more weapons...for now. Status report on Kenndy: The bay of pigs was a big Ehhh moments for Kennedy by sending soldiers but no ground was gained only dissapointment in the face of defeat by Cuba returning to the mother land,Soviet Union. Sources report major doubted Kenndy in the beginning of presidency due to this but like a white man he is turned it around. Status report 10993: Kennedy was idiolized by many Americans due to his charm and confidence with people. By presidency he effected Americans by showing perserverance in sending Americans to the moon which made them feel pride. He also showcased his soft side by caring about all when sending foreign aid to all and promoting the bulding of the Berlin wall which he embraced his gratitude to the germans. In more political ways he was able to effect the cold war by putting an end to all nucleur warfare and wanting to contain communism within Vietnam. Ulitimatly he wanted negociation with the soviet union but found out it was most not possible. Kennedy was influential in the cold war because he reached to foreign countries in voicing his view and worked for democracy in berlin and vietnam and for him the nucleaur power was settled in an elemination yet untill a communist shark appears.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born May 29, 1917 to a wealthy family in Massachusetts. JFK came from one of the most prominent Irish Catholic family. He was the second of nine children. He served in the US Navy from 1941 to 1945. He was a lieutenant of the navy. He was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism. After he finished his military career he abandoned his plans to become a journalist to start a political career. When his brother died in war, his father told him since his brother couldn't fulfill the destiny to become the first roman catholic to be a president it was passed down to him. JFK won a Congress election in 1946. He won a reelection to the House of Representatives in 1948 and 1950. He also ran successfully for Senate in 1942. He won the presidency against Richard Nixon in 1960 and he became the 35th President of the United States. He was the first Roman Catholic President and one of the youngest presidents ever. During his time in the office he launched the Peace Corps. He also played a hand in the civil rights movement. He sent troops to desegregate the University of Mississippi and endorsed the March on Washington. He also proposed a comprehensive civil rights bill. Following the Bay of Pigs, Kennedy and Khrushchev met to discuss the fall out. Kennedy was not prepared and also was in excruciating pain because of his medical issues. This made the United States seem to have a weak and poor leader in the eyes of the opponent. This would only cause greater tension in the Cold War. JFK again met with Khrushchev to discuss the German border situation in Berlin. Khrushchev had a threatening tone with JFK he said he would cut off the Allies access to Berlin. Kennedy responded by ordering major increases in American worldwide ballistic missile forces. He also added five new army divisions and increased the nation's air power and military reserves. The Soviets meanwhile resumed nuclear testing and President Kennedy responded by reluctantly reactivating American tests in early 1962. Kennedy was preparing America for a full blown out war with the USSR. JFK increased the demand for new space exploration with the creation of NASA. The United States won the race to the moon against the USSR creating more support for United States. Although Kennedy did not see the end of the Cold War because of his assassination he had a major role in it.
ReplyDeleteLyndon B Johnson was born on August 27, 1908 in Stonewall, Texas. He was a strong democrat. Before becoming president, he joined the Naval Reserve on December 10, 1941 (3 days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor). He also served as the Lieutenant Commander. He was the person of keeping the flow of production of ships and planes. LBJ was the Vice President to John F. Kennedy, but when he was shot LBJ was moved to the presidential seat in 1963 just hours after JFK was shot. While he was president, his main focus was on solving problems for the poor. He first passed the Civil Rights Act which was to end discrimination then after came the Economic Oppourtunity Act of 1963 which also was aimed towards poverty. He campaigned in 1964 to declare "war on poverty." He wanted American citizens to build a "Great Society" that would eliminate some issues with poverty. During his presidency, he created many reforms to help with the poor. His impact on the Vietnam War didn't really have affect. He pushed troops into Vietnam starting from 16,000 to at the end of his presidency he pushed to 500,000. Even after pushing those troops and putting in efforts, in the end it didn't really affect anything.

This deception earned him a seat in the senate, earning the name: "Landslide Lyndon". The then became vice president in 1961 under President John F. Kennedy. He then became President in 1963 and remained in office until 1969. Once president, Lyndon Johnson quickly revealed his true ideologies and reverted back to his old liberal self. As president he established the Civil Rights Act of 1964, enabling the banning of discriminating acts to race in most privately owned facilities open to the public. He then later created the "Great Society", a set of New Deal-like policies to change the American way of life. Lyndon B. Johnson currently has a high level of influence to the enemy civilians. Joseph McCarthy was born on November 4th, 1908. McCarthy was a Republican and a senator of the US. Before running for senator, he quit his job as a circuit court judge and joined the military to make himself appear more suitable for office. While running for senator, he wrongfully accused government officials of being communist and continued to praise himself for being in the war while shameing the other candidates for not being apart of WWII and won the election. With the accusations he caused about 2,000 government officials to lose their job. President Dwight D. Eisenhower did not believe a single word that came out of McCarthy’s mouth, but he didn't do much to stop it until McCarthy tried to attack the military. Than the army retaliated against the accusations and Pres. Dwight finally stood up against McCarthy. Soon McCarthy was taken out of the position as chairmanship on the Government Committee on Operations of the Senate. Reporters started to lose interest, causing McCarthy to lose power over the people. The fact that people believed McCarthy without any evidence just shows how big of an effect communist had on the US.

ReplyDeleteThis is agent Wilcox checking in. I have gotten more news about my next current target, he goes by the name of Richard Nixon and is a very popular man here in the United States. I have heard from many that he holds strong republican views. This man was born January 9, 1913 and by the age of 29 he was enlisted in the armed forces during World War II as a Naval officer. In 1964 he was elected as their president, poor choice if you ask me. He is a very awkward man for when he addresses the public it is painfully embarrassing to watch. He seems to be very smart behind his awkward personality though, because even though he is strongly against communist ideals, he still is trying to make amends with China.
I now also know why I was assigned to this man, he seems hard to trust. I have gotten inside information that he believes in strong military power and has even tried making a treaty with the Soviet Union, blocking us from creating one of our most powerful weapon, nuclear bombs. Even though with this side the public sees, he does not seem like a trustful man. It seems he has been lying and covering up many things, and he seems to enjoy abusing his power. The public does not know about this yet for I have found out through Richard Nixon's cook in the white house.
Until Next Time…

Analysis
o Kennedy impacted the Cold War by implementing policies to contain Communism and avoiding a nuclear war.
The 34th president of the United States had a lot on his plate during his term as commander-in-chief. Playing important roles in World War I, World War II, and the Cold War, Eisenhower was a valuable target, I mean, person-of-interest to the Soviet Union.
ReplyDeleteAfter months of research on our enemy Eisenhower, I, a soviet spy, have gathered all the information possible that I was able to get on the rebel scum. Mr. Eisenhower’s ancestors moved from their amazing German life in Karlsbrunn to York, Pennsylvania in 1741. Dwight D. Eisenhower was born on October 14, 1890 in Denison, Texas and would later pursue the military life after being accepted into West Point Military Academy at age 21. In 1952, Eisenhower entered the presidential campaign beating Taft, a democrat, for the Republican party.
Eisenhower’s role during World War II was key considering he was a commanding officer during the invasion of Normandy in 1944. It was because of this operation that would make him a run-in during his political career. Eisenhower was a strong believer of the containment policy as a military strategy, especially during the Cold War to prevent the spread of communism. As a result of this strong belief that made Americans feel some relief instead of worrying as much about nuclear war.

Political Career:Served in the U.S. House of Representatives and Congress. Became the 35th U.S. President in 1960.

Kennedy's greatest accomplishments came in the arena of foreign affairs. Kennedy created the Peace Corps in 1961 and also the Alliance for Progress to foster economic ties with Latin America. he hoped to stop the spread of communism in the region. Kennedy tried but failed to overthrow Castro in Cuba at the Bay of Pigs. The greatest crisis Kennedy face was the Cuban Missile Crisis in October 1962. Kennedy was successful in stopping the Soviet Union from sending nuclear missiles to Cuba. On the home front, Kennedy raised minimum wage, cut taxes and instituted new social program to improve education, healthcare and mass transit. Kennedy passed the landmark Civil Rights Act in 1964.
Kennedy began his presidential career vowing to stop the Soviets and the Cold War and did everything in his power to do so. It is ironic that Kennedy was assassinated by a former Marine with Soviet sympathies.

ReplyDeleteRichard Nixon was the born on January 9, 1913 and later became the thirty seventh president of the United States. His first lady was Pat Nixon, and they had no children. He was a republican president, but with his southern strategy during his campaign he tried to appeal to democratic views so that he could gain popularity. Apart from being the president, Nixon accomplished many things in within the US. He was originally a quaker, then moved to being a public service realm for the Navy, to an OPA, then an aviation officer, and finally worked his way up to being the lieutenant. He started his political career as a senate in California, then a congressman and also the vice president to Eisenhower. Nixon had a very civil approach to the cold war. He had a policy known as detente which is a french term that means release tension. He made personal trips down to both China and Russia to find a way to change society, and end the very unpopular Vietnam war. The trip to Russia, like the trip to China a few months earlier, allowed him to keep the public focused on his achievements with the foreign countries rather than his problems. Nixon’s trip to China heightened the Soviets’ interest in détente because of the antagonism between China and Russia. Nixon’s reputation was boosted when he started to withdraw troops from the very unpopular Vietnam war. This is what put an end to the war, which sadly resulted in Saigon falling to the communist. As popular as those things made Nixon, he reputation was tarnished after his watergate scandal. On June 17 Nixon’s campaign committee was caught stealing from the Democratic National Committee to gain information on his opponents. It was never proven if Nixon knew about the robbery, but he took steps to cover it up. He tried to bribe the FBI from investigating the crime, in hopes that they would destroy evidence and fire uncooperative staff members. This is what sent Nixon into his resignation. Richard Nixon is a many of man of many reputations- a coward, a leader, a fraud or even a hero. Personally, I view him as a thief who cared more about his reputation than his country, and thus deepened american cynicism towards its government.

Lyndon B. Johnson was a strong Democrat who went into to political world looking to better off America. Johnson created a wide variety of acts or plans that would fall under his idea of the "Great Society." Under this category, Johnson created a Civil Rights bill that would get rid of all segregation or any discrimination against African Americans. Johnson had a strong feeling that he was apart or even the start of the war against poverty and created programs to better society such as: creating medicare, African American voting rights, the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, and boosting the countries economy. Ironically Johnson did the complete opposite of bettering the country and escalated the Vietnam War by sending more troops and actively fought and dug the hole deeper for himself. While Johnson claimed to create all of these new and innovative things to better the country, he took himself back by extending this war and spending Americas money to fund fighting it. Reason being for his unpopularity and decided to not run again in the Election of 1968.

Thanks to this foolishness we were able to get his fellow Senators against him and think of him as pretty much a crazy person that should not be trusted. Even if he was able to for the public on how he was a patriot and just wanted to go on a mad Witch Hunt to find us but he was wrong and the end of McCarthyism was due to his own fault he should not have try to threaten to expose us and reveal where are locations a're. What's even bettrr he was foolish enough to blame anyone that question him even if they were they one hundred percentAmerican and even his own fellow Senators doubted him and question if he had no longer had any decency I am certain plan Court Jester is working very well. Plan court jester let us to the end of McCarthyism. We successfully secretly turned his own fellow Americans against him and this lead him to step down from the Senate and be removed from the public eye and no longer a threat to us. After McCarthy was removed From ever influencing the American lines to believe that we exist he died 2 years later after we succeeded with plan court jester so I can say this proudly we successfully taken out the target with leaving any trace that it was us who took out the once popular senator.

Social Influence: After getting a special committee to investigate the Nation Defense Program to lower war profiteering and get rid of wasteful spending he gained support and respect from his colleagues and the people.
Analysis: The Cold War started under the watch of Harry S. Truman. Due to Truman the ties between ourselves and the U.S. broke. The president's "Truman Doctrine" supported people that were against communism. Also, Truman's failure to lead the United States to victory in the Korean War led to a severe decline in support for the president's policies among the American people.
